On October 11, 2025, Humanity Touch proudly joined communities, leaders, and development partners in Adjumani District for the Charity Run for the Dignity of the Girl Child, held in commemoration of the International Day of the Girl Child. This year’s global theme—“The Girl I Am, The Change I Lead: Girls on the Frontlines of Crisis”—marked a powerful milestone in the global gender equality movement, recognizing girls not only for the challenges they face, but for the leadership they bring to climate justice, peacebuilding, and social transformation.

The run brought together adolescent girls, community members, local council leaders, and civil society organizations in a vibrant show of solidarity and advocacy. Humanity Touch, known for its deep-rooted commitment to gender justice, feminist leadership, and rights-based social protection, played a central role in organizing and facilitating the event. Girls from both host and refugee communities—many of whom are active participants in Humanity Touch’s Feminist Leadership Academy and Safe Spaces Project—led storytelling sessions, shared their experiences, and showcased innovations in climate-smart agriculture, digital advocacy, and community mobilization.

The theme’s emphasis on girls as leaders in crisis aligned seamlessly with Humanity Touch’s programming. Through initiatives like the Mobile Agricultural Training Van Project, girls are trained in sustainable farming, solar-powered food processing, and digital literacy—skills that not only build resilience but also foster economic independence and environmental stewardship. During the event, participants displayed products, shared testimonies, and demonstrated how access to opportunity and mentorship has empowered them to lead change in their communities.

Humanity Touch also used the platform to advocate for inclusive policies and increased investment in girl-led initiatives. Educational materials, GBV referral guides, and leadership toolkits were distributed, reinforcing the message that girls deserve safe spaces, quality education, and the freedom to shape their futures. The organization convened a roundtable with local leaders and service providers to discuss strategies for integrating girl-centered programming into district development plans.

The 2025 Charity Run was more than a celebration—it was a declaration of collective responsibility. Humanity Touch continues to champion the rights and dignity of the girl child, ensuring that every girl—regardless of background or circumstance—is seen, heard, and supported. As the world marks 30 years since the Beijing Declaration, this year’s theme reminds us that girls are not waiting for a better world—they are building it. And Humanity Touch is running beside them, every step of the way.
