On October 11, 2022, Humanity Touch proudly participated in the Charity Run for the Dignity of the Girl Child, held in Adjumani District to mark the International Day of the Girl Child. The event was anchored in the global theme “Our Time is Now—Our Rights, Our Future”, a powerful call to action that recognized the urgency of investing in girls’ rights, leadership, and well-being. The run brought together adolescent girls, community members, government officials, and nonprofit organizations in a united stride toward justice, visibility, and empowerment.
Humanity Touch’s involvement in the event reflected its deep commitment to advancing gender justice, social protection, and feminist leadership. Through its Safe Spaces Project and Feminist Leadership Academy, the organization has created platforms where girls can access psychosocial support, mentorship, and leadership training—especially those affected by displacement, poverty, and gender-based violence. During the run, Humanity Touch facilitated storytelling sessions and community dialogues, allowing girls to share their aspirations and challenges while advocating for safer, more inclusive environments.
The event also served as a mobilization point for Humanity Touch’s broader programming. Staff and volunteers distributed educational materials, shared information on GBV referral pathways, and engaged local leaders in conversations about policy and protection. Girls who had benefited from Humanity Touch’s vocational training and digital literacy programs showcased their skills and innovations, demonstrating how access to opportunity transforms lives.
By aligning with the 2022 theme, Humanity Touch reaffirmed its belief that girls are not just the future—they are the present. The organization continues to champion their rights, amplify their voices, and invest in their leadership. The Charity Run was more than a symbolic gesture—it was a declaration of collective responsibility to ensure that every girl lives with dignity, safety, and the power to shape her own future.
