Rights-Based Social Protection Projects
Protection Services for Vulnerable Populations Project
We provide essential services through community-based mechanisms and rights-based training. These services include psychosocial support, legal aid, and awareness-building around protection principles. By equipping local actors with knowledge and tools, Humanity Touch strengthens the capacity of communities to respond to protection needs and advocate for inclusive service delivery. The program also recognizes that protection must be accessible and adaptable, which is why much of its content and support is available online through the Humanity Touch website, ensuring that even those in remote or underserved areas can access vital information and guidance.
Disability-Inclusive Protection Project
Promotes the empowerment of persons with disabilities through accessible services, inclusive advocacy, and infrastructure that accommodates diverse needs. This initiative challenges the invisibility and neglect often experienced by persons with disabilities in humanitarian and development settings. By integrating disability inclusion into protection frameworks, Humanity Touch ensures that no one is left behind in the pursuit of safety and dignity.

Humanity Touch Celebrates International Women’s Day 2023: Championing Digital Inclusion for Gender Equality
On March 8, 2023, Humanity Touch proudly joined the global celebration of International Women’s Day under the theme “DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality”. This theme recognized the transformative power of digital innovation in advancing gender equality and spotlighted the urgent need to close the digital divide that continues to marginalize women and girls—especially in displacement-affected and underserved communities. In alignment with its mission to empower women, girls, and marginalized groups through gender justice, social protection, and eco-inclusive livelihoods, Humanity Touch organized a series of activities across Adjumani and surrounding districts. These included digital literacy workshops, radio talk shows, and community dialogues that explored how technology can be harnessed to prevent gender-based violence (GBV), promote economic resilience, and amplify women’s voices in leadership and decision-making. The organization’s Feminist Leadership Academy and Safe Spaces Project played a central role in the celebrations. Adolescent girls and young women were trained in basic digital skills, online safety, and storytelling through technology—equipping them to advocate for their rights and engage with wider networks. Participants shared how access to digital tools has enabled them to start small businesses, report GBV cases more safely, and connect with mentors and support services. These stories underscored the theme’s relevance and Humanity Touch’s commitment to bridging the digital gender gap. Humanity Touch also used the occasion to highlight the intersection between technology and protection. Through its Rights-Based Social Protection programming, the organization is piloting digital referral systems and mobile-based reporting tools to strengthen GBV response mechanisms. By integrating innovation into community protection strategies, Humanity Touch ensures that survivors can access timely, confidential, and dignified support—regardless of location or status. The celebration further reinforced Humanity Touch’s strategic focus on Gender Justice & Feminist Leadership, as women and girls were not only beneficiaries but active contributors to the day’s events. Their leadership in shaping digital solutions, challenging harmful norms, and advocating for inclusive policies demonstrated the power of technology when placed in the hands of those most affected by inequality. International Women’s Day 2023 was a moment of reflection, celebration, and renewed commitment. Humanity Touch continues to champion digital inclusion as a pathway to justice, resilience, and transformation—ensuring that every woman and girl has the tools, platforms, and support to thrive in a rapidly evolving world. Because true innovation is not just about technology—it’s about equity, access, and the courage to reimagine what’s possible.
Championing Girls’ Aspirations at the 2024 Charity Run for the Dignity of the Girl Child
On October 11, 2024, Humanity Touch proudly joined communities, leaders, and partners in Adjumani District for the Charity Run for the Dignity of the Girl Child, held in honor of the International Day of the Girl Child. This year’s global theme—“Girls’ Vision for the Future”—called on stakeholders to elevate girls’ voices, recognize their leadership, and invest in their dreams amidst growing challenges such as climate change, poverty, and inequality. The run was more than a symbolic gesture—it was a vibrant, community-driven movement affirming that girls are not just the future; they are the architects of change today. Humanity Touch’s participation reflected its unwavering commitment to gender justice, feminist leadership, and rights-based social protection. The organization mobilized adolescent girls from both host and refugee communities, many of whom are active participants in its Feminist Leadership Academy and Safe Spaces Project. These girls led storytelling sessions, shared their aspirations, and showcased innovations in climate-smart agriculture, digital literacy, and community advocacy—demonstrating how access to opportunity and mentorship transforms lives. The event also spotlighted Humanity Touch’s work in eco-inclusive livelihoods and resilience building. Through initiatives like the Mobile Agricultural Training Van Project, girls are trained in sustainable farming, artisanal baking, and solar-powered food processing—skills that not only generate income but also foster environmental stewardship. During the run, participants displayed products and shared testimonies of how these programs have empowered them to support their families and lead with confidence. In collaboration with local government and development partners, Humanity Touch used the platform to advocate for inclusive policies, stronger GBV prevention mechanisms, and increased investment in girl-led initiatives. Educational materials, referral pathway guides, and leadership toolkits were distributed, reinforcing the message that girls deserve safe spaces, quality education, and the freedom to shape their futures. The 2024 Charity Run was a celebration of courage, creativity, and collective responsibility. Humanity Touch continues to stand with girls—amplifying their voices, investing in their leadership, and building systems that honor their dignity. As the theme rightly declared, “Girls’ Vision for the Future” is not just a dream—it is a blueprint for a more just, inclusive, and resilient society.
Commemorating International Women’s Day 2025: Advancing Rights, Equality, and Empowerment for All Women and Girls
On March 8, 2025, Humanity Touch proudly joined the global celebration of International Women’s Day under the theme “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.” This year’s theme, marking the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, served as a rallying cry to accelerate progress on gender equality, dismantle systemic barriers, and ensure that no woman or girl is left behind. For Humanity Touch, the day was a powerful reaffirmation of its mission to advance gender justice, promote inclusive leadership, and safeguard the dignity of vulnerable populations across Uganda. In Adjumani and surrounding districts, Humanity Touch collaborated with local government, humanitarian partners, and grassroots leaders to host inclusive celebrations that reflected the urgency and promise of the global theme. Women and girls from host and refugee communities participated in storytelling forums, leadership showcases, and community dialogues—sharing their lived experiences and shaping collective action. The organization spotlighted its work in GBV prevention, feminist leadership development, and eco-inclusive livelihoods, emphasizing the importance of rights-based protection and intersectional empowerment. The theme’s emphasis on rights aligned seamlessly with Humanity Touch’s programming in Rights-Based Social Protection. Through initiatives like the Safe Spaces Project, GBV referral systems, and community sensitization campaigns, the organization has worked tirelessly to ensure that women and girls—especially those affected by displacement, disability, or poverty—can access justice, psychosocial support, and survivor-centered services. The day’s activities reinforced the message that gender-based violence is not just a social issue—it is a violation of human rights, and addressing it requires coordinated, community-led action. Equally, the call for equality and empowerment resonated with Humanity Touch’s strategic focus on Feminist Leadership and Eco-Inclusive Livelihoods. Through the Feminist Leadership Academy, adolescent girls and young women are equipped with digital literacy, vocational skills, and advocacy tools to lead change in their communities. The organization’s Mobile Agricultural Training Van and inclusive entrepreneurship programs have enabled women to build climate-resilient businesses, access markets, and support their families with dignity. These interventions demonstrate that when women are empowered economically and socially, entire communities benefit. International Women’s Day 2025 also served as a platform for policy dialogue and stakeholder engagement. Humanity Touch convened roundtable discussions with local leaders, civil society actors, and service providers to explore strategies for strengthening referral pathways, investing in women-led initiatives, and integrating gender equality into district development plans. The organization emphasized the need for sustained investment in women’s rights, inclusive education, and leadership opportunities—especially for young women and girls who represent the next generation of changemakers. As the world reflects on three decades since the Beijing Declaration, Humanity Touch remains steadfast in its commitment to building a just, peaceful, and inclusive society. The 2025 celebrations were not just a moment of recognition—they were a declaration of action. By advancing rights, promoting equality, and fostering empowerment for all women and girls, Humanity Touch continues to shape a future where dignity is protected, leadership is inclusive, and every woman has the power to thrive.
